Ben Thompson deserves points for calling this one: Nokia did, in fact, have Android up and running on Lumias and might have made a move that way if Microsoft hadn’t stepped in. Now the question remains: Is Microsoft going to be that much more capable of moving Windows Phones with Nokia integrated?
With this news it’s official that their licensing business in mobile is dead. Even their biggest and most successful partner was potentially going to abandon Windows for Android.
