When will smartphones saturate?
Horace Dediu has been doing some interesting work with logistic growth functions and forecasting smartphone adoption rates. He continues that here, applying the data to not only the US market, but also the global market. And he reminds us that the North American smartphone market is only 11% of the global market – important to remember when those of is in the US start to feel like the market is saturated. There’s still quite a bit if battlefield left for the phone makers to fight over, and even once most of it is won there will be the inevitable fights to steal share from each other.
