Patrick Rhone points out the feature that seems mostly overlooked in all the 5c and 5s announcements: the camera. His contention is that Apple has just shipped a ton of firsts in terms of real life camera features that will continue to disrupt the digital camera market – perhaps even eating up into dSLRs and pro-sumer models. Two element flash balance, multiple focus zones, burst image captures combined with real time analysis to determine the best picture, etc are all either hard or impossible to find on dedicated digital cameras. Patrick also points out that as Apple takes more and more advantage of the 64-bit processor and beefy GPUs to do real time analysis – vastly improving photos as they’re being captured – they’ll make it more and more impossible for a normal camera maker to compete.
